Such an autoimmune disorder leads to dry mouth and lips. So, use lavender and mint to moisturize your skin. Take around 200mg aloe vera gel and add a drop of lavender and mint essential oil in it. Mix well and store in a small container. Apply whenever your lips go dry.
2. Improve Your Dental Health With Oil Pulling.
Sjogren’s syndrome symptoms drastically affect your oral health. Oil pulling helps destroy the plaque buildup and keeps your gums healthy. So, take a teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth. Swish and swirl properly for a minute. Spit out the oil and repeat if you can.
3. Strengthen Your Immunity With Green Tea.
The polyphenols present in green tea are known to fight autoimmune disorders. Therefore, boil a teaspoon of green tea leaves in one cup water. Let it steep for 10 minutes, strain and drink to get rid of the Sjogren’s syndrome symptoms.
4. Increase Salivation With Chewing Gum.
The idea behind chewing gum is to increase saliva production. When you chew gum, the body thinks that it is going to swallow and digest something, and thus produces more saliva. It’s the easiest Sjogren’s syndrome treatment.
5. Gargle With Chamomile Infusions.
Chamomile is effective in reducing inflammation, and it keeps the mouth as well as your body moist. Therefore, add some chamomile herb powder in one cup of water. Boil it for about 5 minutes, strain, let cool and gargle twice daily. This will fasten the healing process.
6. Ginger Aids In Saliva Production.
Prepare a natural mouthwash by boiling some dried ginger roots in one cup water. Cleanse your mouth with this solution after every meal. It reduces the foul smell and also assists in secretion of saliva.
7. Use Warm Compression To Prevent Dry Eyes.
Of course, you can use prescribed eye drops to reduce the dryness, but warm compresses too work well. Put a few drops of coconut oil around the eyes and keep a towel soaked in hot water over your face. The warmth will build tear film and give moisture to your eyes.
