Rickets is a disorder of the skeletal system that’s caused due to the deficiency of vitamins, calcium, and phosphate. What vitamin deficiency causes rickets? The deficiency of vitamin D causes rickets because vitamin D is responsible for absorbing calcium and phosphate from the intestines. It leads to soft bones and skeletal deformities in kids. The disease is called osteomalacia in adults. However, rickets treatment in Ayurveda is very much effective and workable.
Rickets can be hereditary and is common among kids between the age of 6 to 36 months as they are in the growing stage. So, if you are observing any recognizable symptoms, you must get immediate treatment.
How to cure rickets? The most natural way to cure and prevent rickets is exposure to the Sun. But, also make sure that the individual does not burn their skin. Rickets treatment in Ayurveda works on some simple home remedies that can also be followed by an expert treatment under the right supervision.

Rickets Treatment in Ayurveda
1. Pearl Ash
Take 60 to 125 mg pearl ash or moti bhasma and add around 2 teaspoons of honey to it. Take this mixture twice every day. But in case the condition is critical, use the same under the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner.
2. Dandelion Tea
Dry some dandelion leaves and put them in a cup of hot water. Cover the cup with a lid and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Now, strain the water and drink this tea for quick relief.
3. Oatstraw Bath
Take dried oatstraw herb and boil it in 4 liters of water. Add this water to your bathing tub. Add more room temperature water and soak yourself in this for 15 minutes. Practice this therapy twice every week and it’ll provde you with a healing effect.
4. Horsetail Tea
Add a teaspoon of horsetail tea leaves in 2 cups of hot water. You can also add some oat straw herb to it. Let it steep for approximately 7 minutes. Strain the water and drink the tea after every meal. But, make sure you aren’t going beyond 2 cups, or else it can leave a negative impact on your health.
5. Nettle Herb
Add an ounce of dried nettle herb in a jar. Pour 1 quarter of hot water into it. Cover the jar and let it steep overnight. Strain the liquid and drink two cups of the infusion every day.
