Bed Sores Treatment
1. Preliminary Care Is Important.
Keep the sores as clean as possible. Change the dressing. Avoid pressuring the wounds. Remove the dead skin so it does not lead to a severe infection. Make sure to immediately get medical attention if the sores ooze out pus or hurt badly.
2. Don’t Over-Pressurize The Affected Area.
It can be difficult, but keep switching positions and do not lay on the sores. Staying immobile worsens the pressure ulcers and spread the infection even more.
3. Use Extra Cushioning For Better Support.
Special air or water filled mattresses as well as cushions help support the patient much better. So, place a pillow below your ankles to keep them elevated or place one between the legs to keep your knees separate.
4. Bed Sores Treatment? Keep the Wounds Clean!
Proper hygiene is important for the wounds to heal better. In the initial stages, a saltwater solution is better to clean the pressure ulcers. It helps get rid of the dead skin and prevents excessive drainage of the pus.
5. Use Special Dressing.
To speed up the healing process, use a honey dressing. Since honey is antimicrobial, astringent as well as moisturizing in nature, it leaves an impact similar to an antibiotic gauze.
6. Try Sugar Coating.
Sugar draws out and absorbs excess fluid, promotes the development of tissues, and fights the bacteria that deteriorate your wounds. Therefore, sprinkle some granulated sugar directly into the wound and then bandage it with a sugar paste. This will prove to be an effective bed sores treatment.
7. Neem Ointment Is Beneficial.
Use neem oil. It maintains your skin’s elasticity, restricts the infection, promotes collagen development and helps heal the skin much faster.
8. Turmeric Paste Heals The Skin.
It provides definite structure as well as strength to your connective tissues. With its wound healing abilities, turmeric paste helps restrict the development of bacteria and relieve the pressure ulcers.
9. Remove Dead Skin With Papaya.
Dead tissues are a major problem when dealing with bed sores. They restrict the growth of new tissues if not treated on time. Since papaya has exfoliating properties, you can apply a papaya paste dressing over the wounds to promote faster healing and dissolve the dead skin.
10. Maintain Your Diet.
Add more vitamin C, proteins, zinc as well as fluids to your everyday diet. These help protect your skin. The pressure ulcers heal faster and you are relieved of the excessive pain. What could be a better bed sores treatment?
