What is Giloy (Indian Tinospora)?
Giloy, also known as the Indian Tinospora (scientific name Tinospora cordifolia), is an ancient ayurvedic herb that’s been used and advocated in Indian medicines since ages. Because of its rich medicinal properties, the herb is also known as the “root of immortality”. It can be consumed in the form of a powder, a juice and/ or capsules. Recommended Giloy Dosage
- Two to six grams of giloy stem powder is suggested to be used per day in divided dosage.
- The other best way is to take a decoction prepared with giloy, water and pure honey. Limit the amount to about one to two tbsp per day in divided dosage.
- For kids, the dose is usually 500 mg a day but medical supervision is suggested.
- And for instance, you want to work on enhancing your immunity, the time period for consuming giloy is around 60 to 90 days. Though, prolonged usage of giloy is not advisable.
Please Note: Giloy or Indian Tinospora is a natural and safe herbal remedy. There aren’t any serious side effects of the herb.
