Just like many other medicinal leaves in Ayurveda, radish leaves too are healing for the body. Most people throw them away, but least do they know how nutrient-dense and delicious these leaves are. Popular in Asian and Korean cuisine, these Kapha-pacifying leaves are a potent detoxifier. You can have them steamed, sauteed, pickled or cooked. The leaves contain vitamins A, C, B1, B2, and B3 along with proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.

Radish Leaves Recipe

Here’s a very simple and go-to radish leaves recipe that you can prepare anytime:

  • Separate and discard the spoiled radish leaves. Pick the fresher ones.
  • Take one peeled and sliced radish along with a carrot and a cup of roughly chopped radish leaves.
  • Add some lemon juice and salt according to taste.
  • Mix the ingredients well and have the salad with your meals or whenever hungry.

Radish Leaves Benefits

1. Radish Greens Enhance Your Immunity.

Radish is in itself an immune-boosting food. Therefore, even the leaves contain a high level of phosphorus that helps in strengthening your immune system.

2. They Are Energy Boosters.

The nutritional value of radish greens is pretty high. They contains vitamins A, B1 and C to assist in the production of energy. People who experience fatigue can try the above-mentioned radish leaves recipe for that instant boost.

3. Radish Greens Help Cure Jaundice.

Since the leaves are an excellent detoxifier, they help cleanse your liver and stomach along with controlling the bilirubin levels during jaundice. So, you can drink a glass of radish juice every day. Mix the leaves in too.

4. They Effectively Treat Insect Bites.

An insect bite can cause rashes on the skin. But, radish leaves heal the symptoms with their anti-pruritic properties. They reduce the associated pain as well as swelling.

5. There Are Radish Leaves Benefits For Your Skin

The radish leaves benefits include protecting your skin from oxidative damage. The flavonoid content tightens the skin – keeping it hydrated, moisturized, and healthy.

6. They Detoxify Your Body.

Radish leaves detoxify the blood. They remove impurities from your bladder as well as kidneys. They also kill harmful bacteria and viruses.

7. The Leaves Prevent Heart Diseases.

Radish and its leaves contain anthocyanins to effectively prevent the risk of heart diseases. They regulate your blood pressure and reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol.

8. They Are Great For Digestion.

Since the leaves of radish are high in fiber, they are good for your digestive system. They help improve bowel movements. Also, the leaves are low in calories, making them an ideal food for fitness enthusiasts.
