Croup Treatment
1. Prepare A Homemade Vapor Rub For Barking Cough.
Vapor rubs allow the release of congestion. Take a saucepan and fill it with water. Turn on the flame and place a jar filled with olive oil, coconut oil, and some beeswax. Stir to mix and add essential oils of your choice. Store in a container and use.
2. Rub Lavender Essential Oil On The Chest.
Since lavender essential oil is antibacterial in nature, it helps heal the croup symptoms. So, add a few drops of the oil in a carrier oil like coconut oil. Rub it on the chest for quick relief from the signs of the croup virus.
3. Expose Yourself To Humid Air.
Steam is an effective croup treatment since it helps release mucus from the body. Cover your head with a towel and run a hot water faucet. Make sure you don’t burn yourself and just inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes.
4. Try Elderberry Syrup To Treat Croup Cough.
Boil one quart of filtered water in a saucepan and add 1/4 cup of dried elderberries along with some rose hips. Reduce the heat and cover the pan. Steep it for 20-30 minutes. Strain and drink after cooling. It enhances your immune system since both the ingredients are rich in Vitamin C.
5. Chamomile Tea For Croup In Adults
Croup symptoms in adults are curable by drinking warm herbal teas. Chamomile is a potent antioxidative that helps combat the croup virus. So, boil a cup of water and add a teaspoon of chamomile tea leaves in it. Steep the tea for 10 minutes and strain. Drink twice daily.
