Scabies Rash: What Is Scabies & How To Get Rid Of It Naturally?

What is scabies? It’s a skin infestation that’s highly dangerous. People who get infected by scabies suffer from severe discomforts and abandonment. A parasite lives and lays eggs under the skin. This appears in the shape of small blisters on the skin. When the eggs hatch, the larvae spread on to the other areas of the body. Such burrows of itchy blisters are among the major scabies symptoms.

What Causes Scabies?

Scabies rash itch as an allergic reaction to mites known as Sarcoptes Scabiei. It takes up to 6 weeks before the scabies symptoms appear. From an infant to an adult, any person can get infected with scabies bites. It is contagious and can be passed through physical contact. Scabies may also spread through infected clothing or bedding.

What Are The Scabies Symptoms?

  • Itching that worsens at night
  • Tiny blisters or bumps on the skin making burrow tracks 

The scabies rash may show up on the following areas:

  • Between the fingers
  • Around the waist
  • On the inner elbows
  • Around the penis
  • Soles of feet
  • Around the breasts
  • Inside of the wrists
  • Armpits
  • Buttocks
  • Knees
  • Scalp and palms of hands

How To Get Rid Of Scabies?

1. Apply Tea Tree Oil On Your Skin.

The tea tree essential oil is antimicrobial, which can help in healing the scabies rash. Thus, clean the infected areas properly and then apply tea tree oil on it.

2. Peepul Tree Bark Helps Prevent Scabies Bites.

Dried peepul tree bark powder relieves the itching caused by scabies bites. Therefore, take 50g of this powder and mix it with a tsp of lime and ghee (clarified butter). Mix well and apply onto your skin to relieve the discomforts.

3. Ayurveda Recommends Mustard Oil For Scabies.

What is a good scabies treatment in Ayurveda? Mustard oil applied to the infected areas is said to be beneficial. It kills what causes scabies – the parasite, Sarcoptes scabiei.

4. Neem Tea Rids The Scabies Rash.

Wondering how to get rid of scabies naturally? Ayurveda has the answer. Neem leaves are believed to heal such infections. Boil some of the leaves in a cup of water for about 10 minutes. Strain the tea and drink twice every day.

5. Turmeric Clears The Scabies Symptoms.

Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial as well as antiseptic. It eliminates what causes scabies along with healing the lesions on the skin. Add some water to a tablespoon of turmeric. Apply the paste on the scabies rash. Repeat twice or thrice daily.
