Dry mouth, also known as leukoplakia, is an oral disease majorly observed in adults. Small patches develop in the mouth, especially on your tongue. These are greyish white in color and can also be seen on the insides of your cheeks. Initially, they are flat and irregular…but they eventually rise and harden up. Leukoplakia is a non-cancerous ailment but may get complicated if left untreated. When the patches get hairy, it’s usually a sign of being HIV positive. Leukoplakia treatment (medications or home remedies) is conducted after diagnosing a small tissue of the affected area.

You can either have turmeric water. Or, apply turmeric paste to your gums and tongue as an effective leukoplakia treatment.
2. Green Tea Is Beneficial.
Since green tea has anti-inflammatory as well as antimicrobial properties, it lowers the chances of infection. It also helps get rid of the bad bacteria present in your mouth. So, drink it warm every day or till the leukoplakia symptoms subside.
3. Use Basil As A Mouthwash.
Fresh basil is rich in beta-carotene which is extremely beneficial in curing the leukoplakia symptoms. Therefore, prepare a decoction by boiling fresh basil leaves in a cup of water. Let them steep for about 5-7 minutes and allow it to cool. Strain the decoction and use as a natural mouthwash after every meal to avoid complications.
4. Swish And Swirl With Sesame Oil.
Sesame oil has been used for oil pulling and oral health care in Ayurveda. The oil has anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial properties. So, hold a teaspoon of sesame oil in your mouth and swish it for one minute. Spit once done and do this on an empty stomach.
